You've probably already seen sandstone installed on some facades or even on the floors. This is because Sandstone, in addition to being a very old stone, has been used for floor and wall coverings for many years due to its durability and non-slip surface.

Sandstone Installation

The placement of the high and low relief will depend on two things: thickness and mortar. When laying, your stone setter will separate the “thinner” stones from the “thicker” stones.

Depending on the model purchased, he will place a thinner stone next to a thicker one, and so on. Do not use stones of the same thickness side by side. This will make the 3D effect much more evident, making the placement much more beautiful.

at the time of installation of your sandstone stone, it is important to use all the stones that arrive at your project. Do not select the colors and sizes! This will cause a large loss of stone, causing much greater breakage.

Obs.: If you want to select the stones together with your mason, it is important to add a much larger break than already recommended, above your yardage.

Recommended break: 10% above the total footage.

Benefits

The sandstone stone has a high durability, face non-slip it's big absorption compared to other types of coatings.

Due to its high degree of absorption, it is often placed on walls with infiltrations.

Indication of Use

Sandstone can be used in different environments without any worries.

In addition to being widely used in facades Because of its indescribable beauty, you can cover wet areas or areas with infiltrations such as bathrooms, toilets and waterfalls. Warm areas such as barbecue or fireplace.

In addition to bathrooms, offices, bedrooms, living rooms, gourmet areas, walls.

And we can't forget the FLAT. It is a highly durable product and is also non-slip due to its rough texture. If you want a single thickness, you can order for calibrated flooring.

Maintenance:

Sandstone maintenance is an important point, especially if you are going to cover external areas.

For external areas we always recommend the use of a waterproofing agent. But be careful!

The waterproofing agent recommended for sandstone is oil-based. We do not recommend the use of resin, as it creates a film on the stone and does not penetrate, thus peeling over time and turning white, the maintenance will be much higher.

For waterproofing, you can use Oleofugante or Hidrofugante if you do not want to change the color of the stone.

O Oleofugante It will protect your stone, enhance the color but without giving it shine.

I o Water repellent, protects your stone, enhances a darker color, gives it shine as if it were wet.
