Placing the fillet/canjiquinha requires attention. The product must be installed with the help of a leveler or nylon thread so that the final result does not fall or become crooked.
Installation must be done on a “perforated” wall for better adhesion of the mortar to the wall. The installer can apply a small amount to the wall with the help of a notched trowel depending on the placement of the fillet, as the stone has a varying thickness, he must also place a quantity of mortar behind the covering, thus placing one by one from bottom to top. Tip: Use a nylon thread to monitor the leveling of the placement to avoid problems with fit.
The stone cuts can be made with a Makita or even with a 2-cut hammer.
When installing your São Tomé stone, it is important use all stones that arrive at your work. Do not select colors, sizes and thicknesses! This will cause a large loss of stone, causing much greater breakage.
Obs.: If you want to select the stones together with your mason, it is important to add a much larger break than already recommended, above your yardage.
Recommended break: 15% above the total footage.
São Tomé is a natural coating that has a high durability and it is super resistant.
In addition to being non-thermal, that is, it does not heat up in the sun, it is a stone that can be placed on walls with leaks, but it is important to use a good mortar and seal the stone and the wall when placed.
It is important to know that Piso de Pedra works with legitimate São Tomé. Legitimate São Tomé does not flake, does not fall apart and does not break easily.
São Tomé can be used in different environments without any worries.
In addition to being widely used in facades Due to its color, which can be combined with any painting and framing, you can cover wet areas such as bathrooms, toilets and waterfalls. Warm areas such as barbecue or fireplace.
In addition to bathrooms, offices, bedrooms, living rooms, gourmet area, walls.
São Tomé maintenance is easy.
For external areas we always recommend the use of a waterproofing agent. But be careful!
The waterproofing agent recommended for São Tomé is water-based. We do not recommend the use of resin, as it creates a film on the stone and does not penetrate, thus peeling over time and turning white, the maintenance will be much higher.
For waterproofing you can use Hidrofugante or a Quartzolit sealer.
